NURSING SCHOOL THESIS

A nursing school thesis is a document that presents a research project completed by a student in a nursing program. It is typically required for students pursuing a higher degree, such as a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). The thesis is intended to demonstrate the student's ability to conduct original research, as well as their knowledge and understanding of the field of nursing.

The Impact of Nurse-to-Patient Ratios on Patient Outcomes in Acute Care Settings

The nursing profession is faced with an ongoing challenge of providing quality care to patients in the face of increasing demands and limited resources. One area of concern is the nurse-to-patient ratio, which can impact the ability of nurses to provide timely and effective care. This study aims to investigate the relationship between nurse-to-patient ratios and patient outcomes in acute care settings.

Through a literature review, this study will examine the current state of research on nurse-to-patient ratios and patient outcomes. It will also explore the various factors that can influence the relationship between these two variables, such as staffing levels, workload, and patient acuity.

Data will be collected from a sample of acute care hospitals in a large urban area, using a combination of survey and chart review methods. The primary outcome measure will be patient mortality rates, and other outcomes such as patient satisfaction and length of stay will be analyzed as secondary measures.

The findings of this study will provide valuable insights into the effects of nurse-to-patient ratios on patient outcomes, and may inform future policies and strategies for improving nursing care in acute care settings. It is hoped that this research will contribute to the ongoing efforts to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in the nursing profession.
